Ideas for days out:

Take a picnic to on of the Loire's vast sandbanks, take a bat and ball and play French cricket! ITS FREE!!!

Hire a Kayak Canoe or Pedalo at Lac du Rille (5mins drive)

Hire a canoe at Saumur and paddle down the Loire, to be collected by a minibus at a prearranged spot to return to Saumur (perhaps best for older children)

Make use of the bike hire at La Roultiere and discover the forest cycle trails close by, many of which are off-road.

"Holly Park" — amusement park for younger children, with rides, train, and merry-go-rounds set in the grounds of a chateau (20mins drive)

Chateau Breze — delightful Renaissance chateau with amazing series of underground caves and tunnels to explore (30mins drive)

Zoo La Fleche — A zoo which revolutionalised zoo design, with a sealion show, and an amazing falconry display (30 mins drive)

La Recreation — an activity park set in a woodland, with tyre walls, mountain bike tracks, zip wire and rope swings. Brilliant fun for all. (40mins drive)

Pony Trekking at Chateau Gizeaux — (15mins drive)
