| In true "no going back" style (and long before Channel 4 started making programmes about moving abroad) Gill and Phil sold their house in York, boxed up and moved out - lock, stock and barrel - with their 2 children and dog Jessie in 2002. The aim of this ex-teacher and insurance investigator was to change their hectic lifestyle and to give their children an opportunity to be bilingual. Their relaxed way permiates La Roultiere allowing you to make the most of your time off and recharge your batteries. In addition, by living and working in the community they are best placed to give advice to help you plan your days out and where to sample the best in local cuisine, wine and hospitality. | |

Having transformed the delapidated barn into a home with help from Domonic the blind carpenter, and support from Simon our trusty friend (who specialises in crustacian walls), Gill and Phil are able to concentrate their energies into making La Roultiere the holiday spot perfect for people for all walks of life. With their love of good food, and hospitality their efforts now have turn to catering for the families and groups who choose La Roultiere for their holiday.
