The "fleuri" village of Breil has its own chateau with historic landscaped gardens - "parc de Lathan" and a unique underground labyrinth. The village is centred round a Medieval church with white washed houses and tree lined streets. In the village is a Bar with Creperie and Saladerie and a patisserie selling fresh bread and croissants. A large festival in the middle of August ends with a spectacular firework display set to music - not be missed. The town of Noyant is 5km to the north has a selection of small shops, several good restaurants and bars, an excellent market each Friday. There is also a large Intermarche supermarket stocking a full range of food, wine and other goods. The InterMarche has also has a petrol station. Breil is surrounded by a mix of open fields, orchards, woodland and a nearby lake has swimming, boat and pedaloes hire, tennis and volleyball courts, crazy golf and a shaded childrens play area. See how the French picnic en masse ... truely an authentic continental tradition.
