We stayed at La Roultiere in June 09 and have to say they are the most child friendly Gites we have ever stayed in (not to mention the nicest too!!) From the black out linings in the childrens bedrooms to the cupboard full of toys Gill has thought of everything. Our children (age 4 and almost 2) had a fantastic time on the swings, in the sandpit and especially in the pool. There is tons to do even for the most active with Chateau's, zoo's, theme park, lake, shops, etc, etc all less than 45mins drive away. We just wish we could have stayed longer and will certainly go back again.

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom gites, with our little 2yr old in June 2009 and had a fantastic time. The property itself is well appointed for families, not having to worry about taking highchairs/cots etc. The owners Gill & Phil let us have a look at the other properties and they were equally lovely, with each having their own terrace with bbq. This enables you to have some privacy or should you wish to meet other families, there is a communial dining area for groups. Once unpacked, all cars are left in the parking area, so we felt very happy that our little one was safe running around the beautiful grounds, with the swing/slide, mini trampoline and other toys. Gill & Phil make you feel very welcome and gave us some great tips for days out and where to go. It was all so relaxed that often us parents would meet up in the evenings - once the little ones were asleep - for wine and chat with the owners. We would not hesitate in going back, as there is so much to do in the surrounding area - the zoo at La Fleche was especially great. The fact that La Roultiere was great was an added bonus!

Our holiday at La Roultiere was without doubt the most relaxing holiday we've ever had with our children! The accomodation was excellent, the grounds were great for the children to play in and they made lots of new friends. The quiet local lanes and tracks are perfect for family cycle rides and there are loads of attractions to see within an easy drive - the underground tunnels at chateau de Breze are not to be missed! La Roultiere felt like a true 'home from home' and we were all very sad when our holiday came to an end: we will definitely be going back for another holiday!

Ideal for all sizes of family. We have stayed as a couple (twice) and once with our daughter and grand children. The kids loved the space and the pool, while the grown-ups enjoyed the pool, the peace and quiet and Gill's great home-cooked meals. Within easy reach of all the Loire Valley chateaux if culture is your thing or just sit and chill out with a glass of wine and wait for the world to pass by (my personal choice).

We have visited La Roultiere on several occasions. The gites are located in a very peaceful location, safe for children, but not remote from facilities. The properties are well equipped, clean and comfortable. They provide a relaxing retreat, which you can feel happy to let kids play in, and with enough space to chill out. The grounds are attractive, the swimming pool clean and safe and the boules court and outdoor dining area allowed us to meet up with other families in shared space. Each gite also has its own terrace or balcony, which gave us chance to have family BBQs and a glass on wine in the evening. Gill and Phil offer a warm welcome, and the fact that they live on site with their children and dogs made us feel like guests rather than just tourists. We took our bikes to cycle along the Loire last time we were there, but in the past have hired bikes from Gill and Phil to cycle around local villages and the have a picnic at the nearby lake. The towns, villages and countryside are attractive and worth exploring. For visitors like us who travel from NE England, this gives us a true French holiday without days of travel.

We had a lovely week with our friends and all our children, the children all played around the garden with the other children too and left us free to just sit, relax and enjoy the surrounding views and of course, the wine. The local cycle rides and routes were a great hit with all and well worth planning a days route with Gill so you make the most of taking in the local countryside followed by a dip in the lake. Slightly further a field the Chateaux and Loire are well worth visiting, if only to top up the wine collection. Accomodation was perfect. Great place, great area, great hosts and would definitely go again.
